Key Clubs are the high school organizations sponsored by Kiwanis International. Members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities and learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.

Conejo Valley Kiwanis sponsors the Newbury Park High School Key Club, which received its charter on April 30, 2001.  It currently has 109 members and meets every Tuesday at 11:50am.

Officers for 2017-2018 are Co-Presidents Grace Hsu and Julianna Chew; Vice-President Emily Flores; Secretary Lois Bai; Treasurer Rebecca Chua; Publicist Sally Lee.  The faculty advisor is Special Education teacher Gillian Whiteman.

A major fundraiser for the club is the Stud Pageant in May.  All proceeds go to The Eliminate Project, sponsored by UNICEF and Kiwanis International, to eradicate maternal and neonatal tetanus. The Pageant is all about having fun.  Male NPHS students compete for the title “Stud of the School."  Purchasing a ticket allows members of the audience to judge the “competitors” on three criteria:  talent, summer wear and formal wear.

The Key Club’s biggest service project was Adopt-A-Family for the holidays.  The club has also participated in Relay 4 Life, Heart Walk, Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF, CROP Hunger Walks, Tournament of Roses Parade float decorating, and Wheel to the Sea.
